Prostate
Testing

The Bridgnorth Lions Club organises an annual Prostate Testing event...

aimed at raising awareness about prostate cancer and providing prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood tests to men over the age of 40.

The Bridgnorth Lions Club works in partnership with a National Prostate Cancer Charity to provide the testing services and the event is staffed by a team of enthusiastic professional Phlebotomists to take the blood samples.

In 2022 we introduced a Cholesterol and Diabetes Test, both of which can be present without symptoms, can only be detected by a blood test and both can be life changing!

Prostate cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in men, and early detection is key to successful treatment. PSA testing is a simple blood test that measures the levels of PSA in the blood. Elevated levels of PSA can be an indicator of prostate cancer, and further testing may be necessary to confirm a diagnosis.

This years testing event will take place on Wednesday 2nd October, at Castle Hall, East Castle St, Bridgnorth.

The Bridgnorth Lions Club works in partnership with local healthcare providers to provide the testing services, and the event is usually staffed by volunteer healthcare professionals.

The Testing events have become an important part of community outreach efforts and helped to raise awareness about the importance of early detection.
