Canine Carnival

A Fun, Family Friendly Afternoon

We plan a great day out for all you dog lovers and dog owners.  Does your pooch have the Waggiest Tail or Shiniest Coat?

Could they be either the most Handsome or Prettiest or would they turn out to be the one dog our Judges would want to take home?

We will be having 10 Fun Doggie Competitions that anyone can enter with each one only costing £2.00.

We all love our dogs and think they are the most obedient, best looking or most agile. Bridgnorth Lions are giving you the opportunity to see how they fare against other local dogs in the ring with our local vets from Severn Edge judging the winners. Each winner will go forward to Best In Show – you could be the Top Dog!

In addition to our fun competitions, there will be displays from Paws for Thought (coming all the way from Hereford) and Ready 2 Run Agility giving demonstrations of their professional agility teams.

In addition, Bridgnorth Dog Club will be hosting a Scurry Run, giving your “best friend” the chance to race against the clock!

Along with the chance to see some stall holders selling their dog associated wares – we plan a great day out for all the family and of course your own “canine companion”

Pets As Therapy

Pets As Therapy is a national charity that was founded in 1983 by Lesley Scott-Ordish, a dog owner and passionate volunteer who understood the amazing bond between humans and animals.

Today our vision is to ensure that everyone in the UK, no matter their circumstances, has access to the companionship of a friendly pet.

We strive to enhance health and wellbeing in the community through the visits of dedicated volunteers with their temperament assessed pets. We have over 4,000 volunteers who provide a visiting service in hospitals, hospices, residential nursing homes, day care centres, mainstream and special needs schools, prisons and other establishments across the UK.

Therapeutic visits by PAT Teams can bring comfort and companionship to people living in local communities who may feel isolated and lonely, help young people to improve their literacy and concentration in the classroom and can aid a patient's recovery, rehabilitation and help improve mental health and wellbeing.

THE BRIDGNORTH DOG CLUB LOGO

The Bridgnorth Dog Club

Hi, my name is Emily and I run TBDC here in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. I have always had a huge passion for animals and animal care, which is what gave me the push to set up on my own in 2021.

Initially with dog walking & pet sitting, however in 2022 we added Dog Training Services to the business too. I offer reward-based training methods only using positive reinforcement/force free methods.

Paws for Thought Dog Display Team

Paws for Thought was set up by Stuart Brace an ex-Police dog handler following the disbanding of the local Police Dog Team and due to the continued requests for Dog Displays in the area.

After some years of performing a police style display, Stuart took control of the team and changed its style.

The display changed from formal to very informal, the onus placed on entertaining the whole family. A strong message was also presented that dog owners should be responsible for their pets and fun could be had training a dog, whatever the breed.

The teams reputation was growing and they were now being booked by large events.

They have performed at such prestigious events such as BBC CountryFile Live, Discover Dogs, Channel 4 Pet Roadshows, Royal Bath and West, Royal Welsh, Royal Three Counties Shows, Paws in the Park, The London Pet Show, The Royal Welsh Spring Festival, Britain's Got Talent and The Alan Titchmarsh Show, CBBC Who Let The Dogs Out and About, Hurlingham Club London, Ascot Race Track Family Day.

The team will provide excellent entertainment for all ages, this "all breeds" team includes a Jack Russell, Russian black terrier, Standard Poodle, Rottweiler, Boxer, Spaniels, Pointer, Collies, Labradors, Dalamation.

Be amused by our dog races, fun agility, unusual retrieves, tricks and exceptional commentary, delivered in a relaxed and entertaining style.

Be impressed by the short, snappy obedience routine, which shows what can be done with family pets, which are mostly rescue dogs, performed to accompanying music.
Child and adult participation, including games and tricks is encouraged, culminating in a "meet the dogs and team" session."
