Back With A Very Special Event
The Bridgnorth Lions Walk & Marathon In Its 46th year.
And for 2025, it’s something really special. In recognition of the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, the 2025 Event will celebrate and pay respects to those who fought for our freedom.
We have chosen the theme of They Fought For Us, We Walk For Them to honour the debt we owe to those who gave their lives to ensure we can live freely today.

Fund Raising
In 2024 Walkers Raised almost £90,000 For Good Causes
The Bridgnorth Lions Walk & Marathon is all about raising funds for good causes locally, nationally and internationally. And this year our VE Day Celebrations give an even more poignant atmosphere to the day.
Over the years we have raised funds for local good causes like Hope House Hospice and Northgate Swimming Club, National Causes like The Royal Marsden Hospital, and International Campagins, notably our Walk for Ukraine in 2022.
This is in addition to the £000's rasied by local individuals and teams specifically for their local causes.
You can download our Sponsor Form below or use your own for your chosen charity.
You can also make a direct donation to Bridgnorth Lions Club via our Just Giving Page.
Bridgnorth Lions Club is run totally by Vounteers, so all funds recieved are used to support good causes.

Every year dozens of local Clubs, Pubs and Businesses enter a team.

All About The Walk & Marathon
The Bridgnorth Walk was established in 1967 as a way of raising money for local, national and international charities. In 2017 Bridgnorth Lions took over as organisers.
The event regularly raises over £100,000 for good causes and attracts both competitive and weekend walkers who enjoy a wonderful community atmosphere.
In 2019 Bridgnorth Lions announced a major expansion to the Walk weekend by adding a Marathon for runners.
The challenging but rewarding route takes in some of the most beautiful Shropshire countryside, including a visit to the top of the 1770 foot high Brown Clee.
For those less competitive, the short Junior and Family Walks offer an alternative.
Starting at Cleobury North just outside Bridgnorth, the Family and Junior Walks are two separate, shorter events, that share some of the same route.
The Junior 7-mile route visits the very top of the Brown Clee, accompanied by Cycle Outriders. With a water station every mile, this is a safe but strenuous event, for those aged 9 – 14.
The all-age Family Walk takes you though some of the most stunning Shropshire countryside. This relaxing 5 mile on-road route draws you along picturesque country lanes. And without the strenuous Brown Clee section, it’s more of an opportunity to stretch your legs, rather than anything more challenging.
